The cage for the recovery of wild boar: the Hénon wild boar trap

The Hénon boar trap is a new trap designed for the capture of wild boar. It is a paddle trap very easy to set up. By walking on the paddle, the boar triggers the closing system of the trap.

Our boar traps are designed to withstand the strength of these animals: the door, the triggering paddle and the entire trap are reinforced with suitable steel rods. In addition, the door of the trap is equipped with an automatic lock which prevents the boar from opening it after being captured.

The wild boar

This mammal knows an increase of its population, thus increasing the damage caused. The wild boar is a species likely to cause damage of category 3. 

The increase of the wild boar population is harmful for the forests. Indeed, they have no natural predator, except the wolf, and the winters, being warmer and warmer, reduce the winter mortality.

In fact, with their snout, these animals search the ground for food, digging up young forest seedlings, thus preventing good forest regeneration. Agricultural crops also provide wild boar with the opportunity to feed, thus becoming the scourge of many farmers. By adding up all these factors, the wild boar is "favored" by human activity (global warming, agriculture, increasing urbanism etc.) and its damages will be more and more expensive. And as the number of hunters is constantly decreasing in many departments of France, the trapping of wild boar is becoming an obligation in some departments.

Its classification as a "pest" makes it possible to use a boar trap.

Be careful, the use of this boar trap is subject to a prefectural decree 

Wild boar trapping operations must be monitored by hunting federations, which must also provide specific training. Thus, not all trappers can use a boar cage. Moreover, the president of the federation will have to deliver a certificate of follow-up and the trapping authorizations will be granted only individually by the Prefect.
