A foolproof trap

The tawny box is a sturdy trap. It can be effective in all circumstances, and is accessible to all. No need to have specific notions of trapping to be able to use it. Being a category 1 trap, you are not required to have an approval number in order to use it, as long as the trapping operation is carried out in a building, a paddock, a yard or a garden. Conversely, if you use the trap outside your home, you must be a licensed trapper and report your operation to your mayor. In addition, you are not subject to any constraint with the tawny box, and are not subject to a certain safety distance from paths, roads and dwellings. 

Easily camouflaged, your approach to trapping an animal will be decisive. It is necessary to trap it by hiding your tawny box in the scenery and especially that you do not leave any odor during your installation. Animals have a keen sense of smell, like the fox which is a cunning animal, which will be able to recognize the smell of humans, and will make them much more suspicious of your tawny box. Think of equipping yourself with handling gloves, so that your hands are not in direct contact with the mesh of your trap. 

To do this, simply place this box in the passage of the animal in casting, along your henhouse, aviary or pen and put a bait in the middle on the pallet. The animal triggers the trap by trying to grab it. When the pallet is triggered, the sliding doors are lowered and the animal is then trapped in the cage.

Opt for bait

Choose the right bait for the right animal:

• For the fox, choose eggs or meat bait, the smell will attract the animal and encourage it to come and venture into the fox box. 
• For the coypu, fruits and vegetables work best, such as apples and carrots. 
• For martens and martens, eggs in a nest, slices of gingerbread lightly covered with honey or figs will do the trick.
