2.25 mm collar trap

Technical data :

  • The stop collar diameter 1.8
  • Cable made of galvanised steel
  • Approved trap for fox catching

How to use it :

The loop of the snare trap must slide between : an irremovable stop preventing the animal from strangling and a stop preventing the diameter of the opening from exceeding 20 cm .

It is generally placed in the runners. Once placed, the lower part of the snare trap must be at least 18 cm and at most 22 cm from the ground.

The collar trap has many advantages: it is very effective, inexpensive and quick to install, which means that many can be laid.

Laying techniques :

Can be used in many situations, both in wood and on the plain:

  • In casting, in woods and in crops
  • In the furrow of the plough, in the plain, in a straw wheel
  • In the mouth of a fox's den
  • When passing deer, at the manure heap in the plain
  • Across a ditch, at the fence

The versatility of the collar trap makes it very efficient. You can therefore place them in multiple locations to maximize your chances of trapping. This set of 30 is ideal for that!

Our advice: Use our chain kit to attach your snare, it will allow you to follow the movements of the captured animal and avoid twisting the snare. Renew your snare after each capture.

When you set a trap, you leave a scent that is easily spotted by the fox, which is a cunning animal. As a precaution, wear handling gloves to avoid leaving your scent and maximize your chances of capture.

Similarly, when you are going to raise the snare trap, take your gloves with you to avoid, in the event that a fox has been caught, any potential diseases that the fox could transmit to you, such as alveolar echinococcosis.

If this snare trap diameter does not suit you, we also offer packs of 30 snares with a diameter of 1.8mm and 2mm.

If you would like to learn more about the snare trap, an article has been specially written in the hunter's journal, telling you how this trap works and its trapping techniques.

Regulations :

To be able to use the snare trap, you must be an approved trapper, declare your trapping operation to the town hall and engrave your approval number on the trap.

A very strict regulation governs the snare trap, our traps are fully approved in order to meet our expectations.
