The calling cage for fox trap
The caller cage is as its name suggests: a cage to place your caller behind the fox trap. The principle is very simple: to make your fox trap more attractive, a live bait will be the best way to bring one or more foxes very quickly. The decoy cage is made from galvanized wire mesh of 50 by 50 millimeters. The cage itself is 75 centimeters high, the same width and 35 centimeters thick. It is also equipped with a side sliding door so that you can open it easily and put your callers in without difficulty and without moving your fox trap.
How to use this cage?
This cage is made to be placed behind a fox trap cage. All you have to do is choose a caller. As a reminder, a caller is a live bait, usually a bird. The fox is a carnivorous predator that is used to hunt birds. Therefore, as a caller, you can take a chicken or a pigeon for example. We advise you to equip the bird's cage with food and water for the caller. Also, remember to cover the cage lightly to prevent your caller from getting too much sun in the summer or being too much washed out by the rain.
This cage is suitable for several fox traps. You can place it between two fox cages 1 entrance or at the back of only one.
Choosing the right trap
On our website you will find several types of fox traps. There is a lot to choose from! So to choose the right fox trap, you have to think about "how you want to trap the fox". There are two families of fox traps: active traps and passive traps. Active traps are, for example, the Billiard fox trap or the Hingiol. Passive traps are more generally fox cages. Active traps are more technical and generally require special skills or even trapper training to be certified. Passive traps are simpler to use and do not require special skills. Fox trap cages are designed to capture foxes without injuring or killing them. And in any case, with an active or passive trap, both are made in France in our workshops.
