Why an X-trap?

Like our 13x13 double spring X-trap, this 16x16 trap can be used to trap mustelids, muskrats and coypu. If you wish to hunt larger animals, such as foxes, we also have traps in 18x18 or 25x25 format.

This X-trap as well as all the others sold on our website Hénon Shop come from Canada. Indeed, we prefer to guarantee you the best quality trapping material possible. We have therefore preferred to call upon the specialist and first manufacturer of the X-trap, Mr Benoît Belisle, to guarantee you quality traps. Other trap sellers will prefer to sell you traps made in China or Asia, but the quality of these traps and the strength of their springs will not guarantee effective trapping. Like all the other products on our website, these traps are of the highest quality available.

 

Advice on use 

If you wish to trap coypu, place your trap in marshes and within 200 metres of ponds, streams and marshes. You can trap them without using bait, otherwise the bait should be plant-based. If you need advice and tips on how to set your trap, the Hunter's Journal may be able to help.

When trapping mustelids, you must place your X-trap more than 200 metres from ponds, marshes and streams. You can use a box to put your trap in, or place it in a burrow in bales of straw or hay. The big advantage of this one is that it is very discreet. It adapts to any environment and allows you to trap several different animals.

Finally, to easily set your traps, we strongly recommend that you use a special X-trap clamp. Especially if you have several to set, it will be easier and faster.
